Replacement air bladder tubes can be purchased to replace leaking tubes. We have used it twice now and on both occasions this centre beam seems to be it achilles heel.

The problem is the Centre Beam which collapses with just a small amount of downward pressure or breezy conditions 15k of wind.

Having looked into the design of these earlier Kampa air tents there is a clear design Issue with only one pump inlet with horizontal roof tubes along with small rubber connecting tubes these perish very quickly and the plastic compression valves and olives appear to be the cause of the perishing interesting these connecting tubes or valves are all no longer used and each tent now has a pump inlet on each cross. The Kampa roof lining is poor its a hell of a stretch to make it fit cable ties had to be used it pools the condensation which is worse than allowing it to develop evenly inside the roof. And for 2018 with the introduction of the larger diameter AirPoles Kampa has reduced the amount of pressure needed to support the awning so there is less pumping to do.

The 2018 Kampa instruction book acknowledges the problem and does give some advice as to how to minimise. However in some cases it may be possible to repair the air bladder to stop the leak. Slightly different but we had an inflatable Kampa drive-away awning to fit an older caravan.

I paid a large amount of money for the Kampa-Dometic Grande all season 390 air awning with both left and right side extensions what ever you do think twice maybe 3 times before you commit to purchase any Kampa-Dometic awnings as the roof awning internal canvases are prone to mould and mildew forming on them especially if you have side extensions to the main awning as these block the ventilation vents leaving you unable to ventilate your awning these awnings.
